Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, born March 26, 1991, and professionally referred to by the name Ari Lennox, hails from Washington, D.C. and is the debut female to be signed with J. Cole's Dreamville Records label. The first album she released with the label on October 21st, 2016, titled Pho. This is when she started to gain fame. Shea Butter Baby released her debut studio album 7 May 2019. Ari Lennox began uploading her music onto the internet in 2012 as she launched her debut mixtape called Five Finger Discount and debut EP Ariography In 2013. In 2014 she continued to share her music over the internet, including her self released single Bound. In July of 2015, she appeared on Omen's album Elephant Eyes with the track Sweat It Out. J. Cole asked her to join him in collaboration for Rihanna's references. Then, later in the calendar, her songs was circulating all over Dreamville. In December 2008, it was revealed that Rihanna was hired with Dreamville Records. She was featured on the joint album Revenge of the Dreamers II featuring the track Backseat Cozz. On the 21st of October in 2016, the EP Pho debuted. Ari Lennox appeared in J. Cole's Change song and opened her own tour, the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. In 2018, she appeared in two of her songs with labelmates EarthGang to Nothing but the Best. And Bas On Icarus. Ari Lennox dropped her first single Whipped Cream on Shea Butter Baby on July 16. The music video was followed by a video in September. In November, she released the singles forty Shades of Choke & Grampa. She then released on the 13th of November two singles titled No One and Pedigree. Shea Butter Baby was released on her debut single, February 26, 2019 to accompany the album Creed II. Shea Butter Baby performed alongside Cole on the Creed II sound track on the 16th of November. In February of 2019, a music clip was released for the song. It has already received more than three million views on YouTube within the debut week. The singer was a part of 6LACK's From East Atlanta With Love Tour during December the year 2018.
